Sterility, high flexibility and compliance with the highest safety standards are the main demands made on the metal hoses employed in medical technology. This means that the line elements used have to be absolutely leak-tight and heat-resistant up to 180 °C. At the same time they have to be light yet resistant to external mechanical influences.
Witzenmann is the only manufacturer worldwide to produce metal hoses for minimally invasive surgery in the smallest diameters from 1.5 to 6 mm and in the highest quality. In order to prevent damage or breakage of the delicate glass fibres during threading, the inside of the hoses must be absolutely smooth.
We also have bellows applications for medical technology in our product range. For example, diaphragm bellows of titanium in medication pumps that are implanted directly under the skin.
